What's a Deal?

When you link a Crmble Contact to a Trello card, you initiate a “deal.” The first contact you link automatically becomes the “Main Contact,” guiding the trajectory of your deal’s journey.

Crmble thrives across multiple Trello boards, sharing your contact database across each one. This integration means you’ll enjoy a unified view of your contacts, regardless of the board you’re working on. Each Trello board and its lists delineate unique funnels or workflows, establishing distinct pathways for managing your deals at the board level.

The beauty of Crmble doesn’t stop there—deals are housed specifically within the board they’re created on, allowing you to toggle between Dashboards, Reports, and Deals, customized to each board’s context.

Contacts are the connective tissue across your boards, enabling you to track their links to cards on different boards seamlessly. This shared access across boards ensures that your contact management is as interconnected as your projects themselves.

TIP: While we generally refer to the connection between a Contact and a Trello card as a “Deal,” it can signify different things across various boards. For instance, on a board designed to manage support queries, a card might represent a support ticket. Conversely, on a board set up to track potential deals or clients in a classic sales funnel style, the cards could symbolize Leads. Feel free to utilize Crmble on any board as it suits your needs.

Creating Deals in Crmble

You can create deals in several flexible ways:

One at a time

  • Directly from Trello: Add a new card to any list using the “+ Add a card” option found at the bottom of each list. Once the card is created, open it, and within the Crmble frame, either link an existing contact or create a new one to create the deal.
  • From the Deals section: Use the “Create deal” button you’ll find in the top buttons bar. Pick an existing contact or create a new one to create the deal as you do when creating deals directly on a Trello card.
  • From the Contacts Section: Switch to the single contact view using the toggle in the upper right corner. Search for and select a contact, then click the “Create Deal” button located at the top of the deal list column on the right.

In Bulk

  • Importing Deals: Utilize the “Import” option under the Action button to upload deals from CSV or Excel files. Crmble will automatically create a contact for each deal and generate corresponding Trello cards on the board where the import is executed.
  • Selecting Multiple Contacts: In the Contacts section, switch to table view using the toggle in the upper right. You can select multiple contacts individually or use single or combined filters to refine your selection. Use the main checkbox in the upper left to select all filtered contacts, then choose “Action/Create Deals” to generate deals in bulk. You can specify how the Trello cards should be named by mapping contact fields to the card’s name or description fields.
  • Seamless Integrations: Connect forms or employ tools like Zapier or Make to automate deal creation from submissions or triggered actions.

When importing deals please keep in mind some limitations regarding the number of items you can import at once. Since each imported record involves creating a new Trello card on your board, the process can take a significant amount of time.

Additionally, while Trello supports up to 5,000 cards per board, we strongly recommend importing no more than 500 cards at a time. To ensure optimal performance, try to keep the total number of cards on a board under 2,000 .

Rendering thousands of cards can severely impact performance, so we advise archiving cards periodically to maintain a smooth user experience. You can use the “Show archived deals” filter option in the Dashboard, Reports and Deals section.

Export deals

With the Export to CSV or Excel function, you can export all your Crmble Deals by selecting the upper right checkbox.

You can also apply some search or filter options to export custom reports as shown in the screenshot. That simple!
