1. Connecting Gmail and Crmble

To connect your mail, head to your Crmble settings. Go to Toppings, and select “Gmail”.

2. Sign in with your Google account to give Crmble permission to access your gmail.

3. Activate Gmail tracking

Once you’re connected you can turn on “Gmail Tracking”, which will check for emails related to your Crmble contacts and thread them in the comments on their corresponding card.

Crmble Gmail Topping account configuration

Gmail tracking will write a comment to your card activity with a snippet of the messages you send to the email address stored in the Email Crmble Field of the card. Any email you receive from that Email address will also produce a new comment with a short snippet to easily follow up on your communication with that contact without leaving your Trello board.

NOTE: Don’t expect to see these snippets immediately. Gmail tracking updates activity every hour.

4. Want to send an email?

Easy! just go to any card and make sure you have a contact with a working email address linked to it. To start sending messages just click click the “Gmail” icon.

From there, just type the subject and body of the email you want to send, and you’re good to go.

We made Markdown available to style your messages. Check out the Markdown sheet sheet to find out more about all the possibilities Markdown has to offer.

NOTE: The Gmail Topping will send the messages from the configured Gmail account to the email address stored in the “@ Email” field of your card.

But wait… there’s more.

Gmail Templates

Life is too short to spend it constantly typing the same text over and over again.

If you find yourself sending the same kind of emails to your contacts, you can use Crmble Email Templates. A template is a pre-built email that you can select and customize before sending to a contact.

You already have some email templates available but new ones are easy peasy to set up.

Just activate the ones you’d like to use.

Create your own templates

Head over to your Crmble settings, then go to the Gmail settings under Toppings. You can see any templates you’ve currently set up. From there, you can edit or add new ones.

You can also use Markdown in the templates editor to add some style, lists, images, styling, links, funny gifs… you name it.
